A Little thought about the Present

You can embrace the present
– There’s no need to play the ‘what if’ game.

The past is gone, and no energy you expend will ever change it.
The future is in God's omnipotent hands, so you’re free to focus on the present.

Your job is:
to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind;
trusting him to forgive the past and transform the future.

Martyred missionary Jim Eliot once wrote, “Wherever you are, be all there,”
not living in the past and not fantasizing about the future.
God wants you in the present because that’s where his grace will flow.

Its just my opinion. What do you guys think?
Any other views on the issue?

aku bagi 3 point ya..

1.
bis mnurut aku,
sama kaya Abraham yang harus tinggalin Ur Kasdim (kemah lamanya)
buat mnuju ke tanah perjanjian,
kita harus tinggalin kemah kita yang lama (our pasts) untuk mnuju ke kemah kita yang baru
yang, of coz, lebi bagus.

tapi jgan salah tangkap,
we learn from our pasts so that we wont repeat it in the present or future
tapi sering kali orang lbi seneng dwell ama masa lalu daripada learn.
like, aib2 or kepaitan, ada orang yang ga mau lepasin itu which
makes orang itu tertahan dari pertumbuhan rohani.
or like, masa2 indah yang ada di masa lalu (nostalgia), karena terlalu bagus
orang sering ga mau lepasin itu n makes orang itu slalu ga mensyukuri
apa yang ada di present. they always think that the past is better (kolot, ga mo brubah),
it makes them ga maximal ama Tuhan n ga trima janji Tuhan.
(how can u get the new land if u dont step out from ur old land?? O_O)

n yang future juga...
future itu jelas2 harus kita serahin Tuhan n biar Tuhan yang ngatur
dgan arti kita jgan ikut campur dgan pgen tau apa yang di dpan (dgan ngramal misalnya)
kan Tuhan cuman suruh kita untuk berjaga2, bukan untuk mencari informasi? (gj tenan)
kan Tuhan uda janjiin future yang tercukupi KLOO, u trust in Him n follow Him.
(why do u need to ask bout it if u trust Him??)
but that doesn't mean that we must not target our goal for the future (vision).
justru vision tu bagus banget untuk menjaga agar
kita keep in the rite track n motivation, also we know clearly wat our objectives n wat we must do in the present

so, smuanya akernya juga balek ke present. karena itu aku stuju banget nihh.
klo kata kungfu panda...

that's why we call itt....(sama2 katakan)..... PRESENT

well, I agree wif Tommy. Aku ada 1 prinsip yg mungkin bisa memberkati kalian.

Well, everybody has failed before. Nobody has not. Aku quote beberapa dari khotbah ko Santo ttg Petrus. Khotbah nya bener2 jadi rema n memberkati aku bgt.

Setiap kali kita fail:

- Evaluasi
--> relationship aku ma Joyce tuh byk bgt problem2. Well, some of you may have seen our "wars". tp bis dah baikan, kita selalu evaluasi. apa salah gw n apa salah Joyce. kita punya 1 prinsip kalo lg berantem. "pokoknya kita ga boleh tdr sebelum masalah selesai n kita damai." Setelah evaluasi, we try our best not to repeat the mistake again.

- Get up & don't give up
--> gw seh kalo gagal, pasti malu bgt n selalu ngerasa ga mau ketemu lg ma org2. tp, i always tell myself, "gw gagal, ya bangkit lagi aja. coba lagi. gw ga perduli apa kata2 org. org2 bs blg kalo gw tuh org gagal. tp, gw tau gw bisa perbaiki n gw pasti berubah for the better." gw jg ga takut kalo gw repeat the SAME mistake OVER and OVER again. cos gw tau gw hanya manusia biasa n penuh dgn kelemahan.

- Prove other people wrong
--> well, i always listen to other people's critics about me. rasanya ga enak n pahit bgt. pengen gw bejek2 tuh org. haha... . but their words are really engraved inside my mind. Never mind, I always remember the words and I WILL prove that gw bakal berubah N make sure kritik2 mereka terhadap gw tuh SALAH. Don't u know that critics actually make u a better person?

- Visualise the positive results
--> after I do the previous 3 steps, gw selalu look ahead. gw treat kegagalan gw tuh proses dari Tuhan n Tuhan bakal membentuk karakter gw melalui kegagalan itu. My major mistake is the "police case." wuih waktu itu gw DOWN BANGET!!! gw malu n gw ga tau mau taruh muka gw dmn. tp in the middle of the problem, gw mikir, "setelah masalah ini selesai, gw pasti menjadi org yg lbh tabah n kuat."

N gw selalu visualise the positive outcomes. gw ga treat masalah itu menjadi batu sandungan. memang memalukan tp kalo kita bisa bangkit dr masalah itu, artinya kita dah bener2 menang dari masalah itu. In the end after masalah selesai, i can really see the results. gw tambah pengalaman n gw bisa share ke org2.


So, to conclude, jgn menyerah, pantang mundur, cos kegagalan itu hanya keberhasilan yg tertunda.
